Careers at Onyx  Current Vacancies

We are looking for Synthetic Organic Chemists to work in our laboratories in Sunderland. The work involves practical organic synthesis on scales ranging from milligrams to kilos. Projects vary from small scale research to process development and GMP scale up.

Graduate Synthetic Chemists

Candidates should possess a degree in organic chemistry and have an excellent knowledge of synthesis. In addition to a range of practical skills an ability to interpret a wide array of analytical information will be required. You need to be self-motivated and able to run projects with the supervision of a Team Leader. Good inter-personal skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

Competitive salaries and benefits are offered. Sunderland is a relatively inexpensive area to live with good access to attractive countryside and urban areas.

PhD Synthetic Chemists

Candidates should ideally possess a PhD in organic chemistry and have an excellent knowledge of synthesis. In addition to a range of practical skills an ability to interpret a wide array of analytical information will be required.

You need to be self-motivated and able to run projects with minimal supervision. Good inter-personal skills, both written and verbal are essential for working with both customers and laboratory team.

Careers at Onyx  Benefits

We aim to provide a competitive salary and benefits package for all our staff. All staff have private medical insurance, life insurance, company pension scheme, enhanced sick pay and maternity/paternity entitlements and free on-site parking.

25 days holiday a year plus bank holidays and this increases with long service. The Company doesn't work shifts so normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The Chemists work is challenging and interesting but never boring or repetitive.
